How do you wash boxing gloves?

Cleaning and maintaining your boxing gloves regularly, won’t just keep them clean and odor-free, but will also make them last longer. It’s very important to make sure your boxing gloves dry out after every use, if you don’t, the bacteria inside the gloves could grow and flourish. Follow the steps below to make your gloves last longer:

First you will need to take them out of your gym bag as soon as possible, so they can air out.

Wipe the gloves inside and out with a cloth or towel, to absorb excess moisture.

Sanitize and disinfect with a half-and-half vinegar (water vinegar or apple cider vinegar) and water solution, and transfer solution to a spray bottle. Give the inside and outside of your boxing gloves a few spritzes of the solution.

Wipe the outside of the boxing gloves with a clean cloth or towel, to remove dirt, sweat and any extra cleaning solution.

Because many boxing gloves are made of leather, you will need to condition the gloves like we condition our skin. Apply a small amount of leather conditioner or lemon essential oil, to the outer surface of the boxing gloves.

Work the conditioner/oil in the leather with circular motions. Wipe the excess product off the gloves with a clean towel or cloth.

These are the steps to clean your boxing gloves without damaging it. Hope this information was clear enough and helped you understand the cleaning-process.

What kind of punching bag should I get for a ‘softer punch’?

When selecting the most suitable punching bag or heavy bag, it’s important to keep in mind your weight, height, punching power, and if kicking is part of your training. A heavier bag is a tougher bag and sways less than lighter bags.

For a ‘’softer punch’’ we would recommend the Everlast HYDROSTRIKE™ Water Bag. The HYDROSTRIKE™ water-filled bag is designed to be a extremely versatile heavy bag, equipped with HYDROSTRIKE™ technology that absorbs strikes, providing a life-like feel with less joint pain on impact.

What kind of punching bag should I get for MMA training?

We would recommend the Everlast Muay Thai punching bag, this punching bag is a slimmer and longer version of the typical heavy bag, the Muay Thai heavy bag is designed differently for training low kicks and knee strikes. These kinds of bags are often used in Muay Thai and MMA. The difference between the two Muay Thai Punching Bags, is that the cheaper one is made of synthetic leather and the higher priced one with real leather. We would recommend the Muay Thai punching bag with real leather for durability and comfortability.
