Always make sure while using this punch you aim for his chin, and it will do more damage if you keep your eyes on your opponent, but some skilled fighters, will duck their head down at the moment of impact to avoid the counter.

Left Hook Exchange

It is again one more deadly counter-punch using an opponent’s momentum against him It again works by aiming for his chin or even his temple (if he doesn’t hold his glove higher) and you also need to make sure that you keep your right glove up and chin down.

Right Cross Over The Jab

It is one of the easiest counter punches to land and It is also effective even when fighters take longer to retract their jabs. Wait for his long jab and then you dip your head to the inside as you throw a right cross over his extended arm. It will damage more if you land the cross right as his jab is coming out; even better if he throws his head in with the jab.

There is even one more method which is even more powerful if you land your cross as he throws his right hand right after his jab. This will require very good timing and even a little bit of patience. You first slip outside the jab and now come back with your right hand as he will throw his right hand on you.

Left Hook Against The Right Cross

Land your left hook before his right hand comes out and then your left hook should land right when he cocks his right hand back. If you’re afraid of getting hit by your opponent while you throw your hook, you can avoid his counter by turning your head with your hook.

Hooks Against A Guarded Opponent

Wide punches always work well against guarded opponents, this is because since they’re covering their vision somewhat and less able to see punches coming from the sides. It helps in mixing different punches to the head and body, straight and curved, to keep him guessing.
